Meinhardt Group Executive Chairman, Dr S Nasim was conferred the inaugural Distinguished Professional Engineer Award 2014 from Singapore Professional Board (PEB) during the PEB Day of Dedication event at The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore on 8 November 2014. The Distinguished Professional Engineer Award is given to a professional engineer who is recognized widely as a distinguished member of the profession who has attained high standards in professional competence and expertise and inspires other members of the profession. The award recipient will act as a role model for professional engineers and as an icon to attract present and future engineers to achieve excellence in engineering.

“Engineering is often mis-perceived to be a very onerous, yet financially unrewarding profession. The reality is, engineering is a very unique and highly creative profession which is inherently very satisfying, given that the infrastructure and buildings we design, serve the country, the community and the public at large. Arguably, many other professions do not offer the same opportunity. Personally, I derive immense satisfaction from having had the opportunity to work on some of the iconic buildings in Singapore and regionally as these will outlast me and serve as a reference point for posterity. I find this greatly rewarding.” said Dr Nasim.
