Larnaca International Airport
This project entailed the design services for the development of an international passenger terminal and associated landside/airside pavements and car parks at Larnaca International Airport.
The international passenger terminal, with capacity for 7.5 million passengers’ per annum, is under a BOT contract for a concession period of 25 years with the Cyprus Government, including the upgrading of existing aviation support facilities to cater for the traffic growth projection at each airport.
The terminal is designed to cater for future aircraft types up to B747-400 and the growth of low cost airline operations expected at the airport with all airside and landside facilities, access roadway and car parks included.
The terminal building opened on 7 November 2009 and has 16 jetways (boarding bridges), 67 check in counters, 8 self check-in kiosks, 48 departure gates and 2,450 car parking spaces.
The terminal design is required to allow operational flexibility to respond to future demand for Schengen and non-Schengen gates for Cyprus’ entry to the European Union, and the provision of contact and remote gates at Larnaca.
